INGREDIENTS

  • 10 large prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup JAGUNG BRAND mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon JAGUNG BRAND chilli sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg and cold water.
  3. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
  4. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Dip the prawns into the batter, making sure to coat them evenly.
  6. Fry the battered prawns until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, chilli sauce, lime juice, and soy sauce to make the sauce.
  8. Serve the fried prawn tempura with the mayo and chilli sauce on the side.
