Chinese Cuisine Braised Lamb with Black Pepper Sauce
A delicious and flavorful dish featuring tender lamb cubes braised
SERVINGS : 4 People
COOKING TIME : 75 mins
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound lamb shoulder, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon JAGUNG BRAND black pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Green onions, chopped for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
In the same pan, add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the black pepper, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar to the pan and stir to combine.
Add the lamb back into the pan and pour in the chicken broth.
Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan and let the lamb braise for about 1 hour, or until it is tender and cooked through.
In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
Once the lamb is cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside.
Bring the sauce in the pan to a boil and then slowly whisk in the cornstarch slurry. Cook for another minute or so, until the sauce has thickened.
Add the lamb back into the pan and stir to coat it in the sauce.
Serve the braised lamb with black pepper sauce hot, garnished with chopped green onions. Enjoy!
